Terre Haute, IN : Woman dies after Lyford crash on Saturday, November 19th 2016
Alcohol was a contributing factor in a single vehicle accident Saturday evening in Lyford resulting in the death of a female, the Parke County Sheriff’s Department reports.
The female’s name was not being released as of Sunday evening, the sheriff’s department said.
The accident occurred about 9:45 p.m. in an area commonly known as the Lyford “S Curves” along U.S. 41.
Evidence at the scene, along with witness statements, indicate that a white SUV was traveling northbound on US 41 and entered into a curve. The SUV failed to navigate the curve and ran off the roadway, causing the vehicle to flip over and come back to rest on all four tires.
First responders found the female unresponsive and trapped in the vehicle. Rescue crews removed the female, and CPR was administered.
The female was revived and transported to Union Hospital Clinton and taken by helicopter to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries, the Parke County Sheriff’s Department said.
