A man driving a stolen vehicle in North Philadelphia Friday night crashed into a police car, causing heavy front-end damage to the cruiser, police said Saturday.
The crash occurred about 9 p.m. when the driver of the stolen vehicle, who was heading the wrong way south on 23rd Street, ran into the front of the police cruiser, which was traveling on the 2200 block of Montgomery Avenue.
The police officer, who was responding to a chase of a person on foot, had minor injuries and did not seek medical attention, police said.
Police said the man driving the stolen vehicle was taken into custody, but did not release his name.
