Annapolis, MD : Three people dead in fatal crash on Route 50 near Annapolis Friday December 4 2015

An Anne Arundel County grand jury has declined to indict a Takoma Park police officer involved in a collision on Route 50 near Annapolis that left three people dead.

The Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's office said Friday that the grand jury has declined to indict Travis Ala on criminal negligence charges.

Investigators have said Ala, who was off duty but in a departmental-registered vehicle , was suspected of causing the March 21 accident.

The Capital Gazette of Annapolis that Anne Arundel authorities will cite Ala for reckless driving, negligent driving and othe traffic offenses.

Ala also is still facing charges of assault and use of a handgun in a crime of violence in a road rage incident in Prince George's County several months before the Annapolis crash.
