A Bolton man was killed Monday in a wreck on U.S. 74 in Brunswick County.
According to Trooper D. Morgan with the N.C. Highway Patrol, Donald Fortson, 77, was driving a Chevy Silverado pickup when he attempted to turn off U.S. 74 onto NC 87 and crossed into the path of an eastbound Toyota Highlander about 11:30 a.m.
Fortson died at the scene.
The other driver Robert Hall, 64, of Matthews, sustained minor injuries. Morgan said Hall was in town to visit his mother who’d been a separate wreck recently.
