A Clay County man died early Sunday when his car was struck head-on by a vehicle that crossed into his lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A second person was hospitalized in serious condition.
Bruce Elliot, 63, was northbound on Blanding Boulevard about 12:40 a.m. when a southbound car driven by Joshua Barron, 21, of Jacksonville crossed the center line and struck Elliot’s car, which overturned.
Elliot, who was not wearing a seat belt, was declared dead at the scene, investigators said.
Barron was taken to Orange Park Medical Center. Information about his seat belt was not available.
