JOHNSTON, RI : 19-year-old Kinsman man killed in Johnston crash on Thursday, July 6, 2017

A 19-year-old Kinsman resident was killed Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Warner Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Tristan Allen Thompson, 5094 Warner Road, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala at a high rate of speed north on Warner Road just before 5:30 p.m. when he crossed the intersection at Bradley Brownlee Road and failed to stop at the stop sign. He drove off the left side of the road, striking a ditch and a tree, the patrol said.

He then struck a utility pole and his car overturned. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.

The patrol said the crash was intentional, according to a news release. Thompson’s car was sliced in half from the impact, according to witnesses.
