Bristol, RI : Bristol deputy fire chief killed in after pickup truck hits metal fencing, strikes building on Thursday evening, August 27 2015
Police say Bristol's deputy fire chief is dead after a pickup truck he was driving crossed over several lanes, struck metal fencing and hit a building.
Fifty-year-old Frank Sousa was killed in Thursday evening's accident. Town officials say he had been the deputy chief for four years. He was off-duty at the time of the crash.
Sousa was extricated from his truck by Bristol police and fire departments. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
What remains of the truck was hauled away.An investigation is ongoing.
