Wilmington, DE : 1 man injured in car wreck on Naamans Road on Sunday afternoon, February 8, 2015

A man is in critical condition after a head-on collision on Naamans Road Sunday afternoon, according to State Police Master Cpl. Gary E. Fournier.

The crash occurred around 1 p.m. Sunday when Maurice Byard, 44, of Linwood, Pennsylvania, had exited I-495 south onto Naamans Road and crossed over the median into the eastbound lanes striking a car driven by Cory Castelluccio, 26 of Wyckoff, New Jersey, head-on, according to Fournier.

Byard was airlifted to Christiana Medical Center where he is currently in critical condition, Fournier said.

Castelluccio and his three passengers were transported to Christiana Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The roadway near the crash was closed for more than two hours. No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing, Fournier said.
