A driver was rescued after his tractor-trailer crashed into a retention pond off Interstate 4 early Monday morning, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said the truck became stuck in four feet of water after it veered off the eastbound State Road 44 exit ramp in DeLand. Rescue crews were able to remove the driver safely from the vehicle shortly after the crash. The exit ramp was closed for several hours while a hazmat crew worked the scene.
