DAMARISCOTTA, ME : Woman high on marijuana crashes car with toddler inside on Tuesday, August 8, 2017

A mother is facing charges after police said she was high on marijuana when she crashed her car with her young child inside.

The crash happened Tuesday on in Damariscotta, Maine police said.Officers said Brittan Burns and her son, who is under the age of two, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.Burns was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and operating under the influence of marijuana.

Police said her son is being cared for by a family member.
