Newton, MA : FedEx tractor-trailer crash causes 8-mile backup on Massachusetts Turnpike in Newton on Tuesday, 3rd March, 2020

A crash involving a FedEx truck caused significant traffic delays Tuesday morning on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

An eight-mile backup was reported in the eastbound lanes on the highway before Charles Street in Newton, according to a tweet from Massachusetts State Police.

“You may want to seek an alternate route,” the tweet said.

No injuries were reported, according to state police.

The tractor-trailer crashed near Route 128 and damaged a guard rail, according to a report from WCVB. The scene was cleared.
