A car accident that killed one person is under investigation, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The accident happened on Northside Drive near Colonial Drive around 5 p.m. Friday, according to troopers.83-year-old Dorothy Hellams died from blunt force trauma, according to the Greenwood County Coroner's Office.
The driver of a 2013 Nissan SUV ran off the side of the road and struck a utility pole, according to officials.
Hellams were transported to Self Regional Healthcare and died at 10:37 p.m.
Troopers said two passengers in the car were taken to the hospital with injuries. No word on their current condition.
