Etowah County, AL : Man killed in head-on collision outside Boaz on Saturday, Oct 3, 2015

A man was killed Saturday morning in a head-on crash on Alabama 179 outside the Boaz City limits, near the Marshall-Etowah County line.

Along with Alabama State Troopers, Boaz firefighters responded to the two-vehicle collision.

A spokesman for the fire department said they were called out at 9:14 a.m. to the crash in the 700 block of Alabama 179.

The driver of one vehicle died; the other was taken to a hospital.

Marshall County Coroner Marlon Killion said Saturday evening that state troopers were working to notify the family of the deceased. The name was withheld pending that notification.
