San Antonio, TX : One person killed, three seriously injured in a violent head-on collision on San Antonio's Northeast Side early Friday morning, April 24, 2015

One person was killed in a Friday morning crash involving a convertible on the city's Northeast Side.

The crash happened just before 9:30 a.m. in the 14600 block of Nacogdoches, not far from Judson Road.

San Antonio police said the driver of a silver Honda convertible was going south on Nacogdoches when he came up on heavy traffic.

He veered left to try to pass the traffic, lost control and hit a black Chrysler head-on.

The driver of the convertible, Richie Tran, 19, died at the scene.

One man and two women from the Chrysler were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment for their injuries.
