KINDERHOOK, NY : Teen killed, 5 people hurt in 2-car crash in Hudson Valley on Thursday, December 1st, 2016
Authorities say a 13-year-old has died and five other people are injured after a two-car collision in the Hudson Valley.
State police say a car being driven by a 74-year-old woman was traveling south on state Route 9 around 10:30 p.m. Thursday when it made a left turn at an intersection and collided with a car driven by a 27-year-old woman in the town of Kinderhook, 20 miles south of Albany.
Troopers say a 13-year-old passenger riding in the rear seat of the 27-year-old’s car was pronounced dead at the scene. The teen’s name hasn’t been released.
The driver and a passenger in the first car and the driver and her two passengers in the second car were taken to Albany Medical Center. Information on their conditions hasn’t been released.
The crash closed Route 9 until around 5 a.m. Friday.
