Des Moines, IA : One person dead after motorcycle collided with two vehicles near the intersection of East 27th Street and Hubbell Avenue on Tuesday night, March 31, 2015
A man was killed Tuesday night after he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with two vehicles.
Des Moines police said they received a call just before 9 p.m. about a car versus motorcycle crash near the intersection of East 27th Street and Hubbell Avenue.
Police and medics arrived to find an unresponsive man in his mid-40s on the ground bleeding. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he died, police said.
Evidence at the scene leads police to believe the motorcyclist was speeding northbound on Hubbell Avenue when he lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist slid on the road, crossing the center line and collided with a minivan. Police said that's when the motorcyclist slid into a second vehicle, a Camaro.
Police are still investigating the crash, and the identity of the man is being withheld pending family notification.
