Plainfield, CT : Baby dies in weekend traffic crash in Connecticut on Interstate 395 Saturday September 10 2016
Police say a 3-month-old baby has died in a weekend traffic crash in Connecticut.
The victim of the crash on Interstate 395 at about 2:15 p.m. Saturday was identified as Ciera Dube.
Police say the baby was in a northbound car driven by her mother that was struck from behind by a tractor trailer.
The car was forced into the shoulder of the highway where it came to a stop.
The tractor trailer, operated by a 44-year-old man, rolled down an embankment and came to a stop in a wooded area.
Police say Ciera was in a rear-facing child seat at the time of the crash. Her mother suffered injuries not considered life threatening.
The crash remains under investigation.
