Athens, GA : Bicycle wreck sends Athens teen to hospital on April, Sunday 9th 2017

A 17-year-old Athens youth was taken to the hospital Sunday night after he crashed his bicycle into the side of a truck at an intersection just east of the University of Georgia’s main campus, Athens-Clarke County police said.

A 20-year-old North Thomas Street resident told police he had a green traffic light when entering the intersection of Cloverhurst Avenue and Baxter Street at about 8:50 p.m. when the cyclist, an Oconee Street resident, crashed into his truck’s passenger side.

The teen was taken by ambulance to Piedmont Athens Regional hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
