Las Vegas, NV : Man dead after crashing into semitrailer near East Lake Mead on Monday morning, June 27, 2016

A 71-year-old man died this morning when a car crashed into the back of a semitractor-trailer near East Lake Mead and North Hollywood boulevards, according to Metro Police.

The man was driving east on Lake Mead Boulevard, approaching Mount Hood Street, about 8:30 a.m. when he ran into the rear of the truck, which was stopped at a red light, police said. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

The 35-year-old truck driver was not injured, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
