One man was killed Sunday night in a one-vehicle crash one mile west of the Gregory County town of Dallas.

According to a press release from the state Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred when the 61-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was driving west on U.S. Highway 18 in a 2002 Ford F-150.The truck went onto the right shoulder of the road at 6:35 p.m., and the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go left across both lanes of traffic, off the road and into the left ditch, where it rolled.

The driver, who was the vehicle's only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
