MANATEE COUNTY, FL : Driver dies in fiery I-75 crash on Wednesday, 9th November 2016

An unidentified motorist died in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to reports, the unidentified driver was traveling south in a Nissan Pathfinder on Interstate 75, north of Linger Lodge Road, in the left lane. For unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway and into the grass median. It then struck a concrete pillar of the Linger Lodge Road overpass and burst into flames.

The victim is unidentified pending notification of next of kin.

The accident remains under investigation.
