Sevier County ,TN : One dead after head-on crash on Sunday ,July 12th 2015

One person is dead and two others were taken to UT Medical Center via LifeStar after a head-on crash in Sevier County.

Bob Stahlke of Sevierville Police Department said the wreck, on Interstate 40 near mile markers 408 and 409, happened when one person driving a Cadillac car crossed the grass median, hitting an SUV with two people in it head-on.

One man in the SUV died. A woman in the SUV and the man driving the Cadillac were airlifted to UT Medical Center.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation hopes to have the wreck cleaned up by 2 p.m. Monday.
