CUMMING, GA : Dawson County woman dies in fatal crash along GA-400 on Sunday, 8th September 2024
Authorities are investigating a crash along Georgia 400 that left an elderly woman dead Sunday night.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department responded to GA-400 and Jot ‘Em Down Road at around 9:30 p.m. Investigators said a blue 2014 Toyota Rav4, driven by 72-year-old Julie Waters Lamb, of Dawsonville, was crossing the intersection when it was struck by a black 2019 Ford F-150. Initial reports suggest the driver of the Ford, 30-year-old Logan Moye, of Dahlonega, was traveling north when the signal for northbound traffic turned red. Lamb was hit as she lawfully began to cross the road.
Investigators said Moye was going “at a speed that made it impossible for him to stop for the red traffic signal.” Lamb died at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
