Murfreesboro, TN : 38-year-old man killed in motorcycle accident near New Salem Highway on Saturday night, August 13, 2016

A 38-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Veterans Parkway in Murfreesboro Saturday night.

Police identified the crash victim as Heath Emslie, of Shelbyville.

Murfreesboro Police responded to an injury crash reported at 9:49 p.m. on the parkway near New Salem Highway.

From a preliminary investigation, police believe Emslie was traveling southbound on Veterans Parkway from Franklin Road when he lost control of his motorcycle in a curve and left the roadway.

Emslie was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital and then to Vanderbilt Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No other details were released about the crash.
