Denton , TX : 5- Years old Girl killed and Three People were injured after SUV rear ended a car on Wednesday , December 24th 2014

A five-year-old girl was killed and her family seriously injured in a Christmas Eve traffic accident in Denton, authorities say.

An SUV rear-ended a car at a state trooper traffic stop. A man, a woman and an eight-year-old boy were transported by ambulance to Denton Regional emergency room. The girl was airlifted to a hospital in Fort Worth where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the driver of the SUV was "possibly on his cellphone" when the crash occurred.

No criminal charges have been filed.

The identities of the driver and the victims have not been released.
