Cabot, VT : 68-year-old Thomas Barbuto died after colliding with a truck on U.S. route 2 in the town of Cabot on Monday, March 7, 2016

Vermont State Police have identified the man who died in the two-car crash in Cabot Monday.

Police say Thomas Barbuto, 68, of Medford, Mass., was driving west on Route 2 and lost control of his Subaru Baja. According to authorities, the Subaru crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound Freightliner truck, which was operated by Louis Kilburn, 66, of Johnson. Kilburn was not injured in the crash.

Police say Barbuto was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation. Police report that the roadway had patches of slush and ice at the time of the crash.
