Juneau, AK : Driver jailed after car-motorcycle crash on May, Sunday 7th 2017
A 50-year-old Alaska man was jailed late Sunday on a preliminary felony charge of criminal vehicular operation after allegedly causing a motorcyclist to crash on Interstate 35 near Midway Road.
The motorcyclist, Christopher Hubert, 45, of Hermantown, was transported to Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a Minnesota State Patrol news release on the incident.
Hubert had been traveling northbound on I-35 just after 6 p.m. when he was contacted by a Honda Accord driven by the Alaska man, the Patrol reported. The motorcycle left the roadway and went into the east ditch.
The driver of the Accord also is facing a gross misdemeanor charge of using a false name and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, driving without a valid license and violating an order for protection. A 39-year-old woman was a passenger in his car. Both the man and woman, who both are from Anchorage, also were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
