Olean, NY : Town supervisor and clerk killed while crossing street on Friday, December, 15th 2017
A Cattaraugus man is facing vehicular manslaughter charges following a Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office probe into an accident that killed two pedestrians Friday.
Kevin Donaldson Jr., 27, of 10030 Leon Road, Cattaraugus, was charged late Friday night with two counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, a class D felony and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Donaldson was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Deputies said that Mike and Donna Phillips were killed at approximately 5:37 p.m. when Donaldson struck them as they crossed the street on their way to town hall. The accident happened at the intersection of Route 353 and North State Road.
Michael Phillips served as supervisor for the town of Salamanca, most recently being reelected in November in an uncontested race. His wife, Donna Phillips, had recently defeated incumbent town clerk Rosemary Sadden in this year’s elections.
