Nashville, TN : Driver flees after crashing into pole in Bellevue early Monday morning, May 9, 2016

Several people in the Bellevue area were left without power early Monday morning after a driver crashed into light pole.

Police said the crash occurred Sunday around 10 p.m.

A witness told police a Chevrolet Tahoe slammed into a pole in the 7700 block of Old Charlotte Pike. When officers arrived, the driver had already fled the scene.

At 4 a.m. Monday, about 61 customers were still without power as Nashville Electric Service workers replaced the pole.

Old Charlotte and Old Gower roads were closed while NES crews complete the repairs.
