Cullman,AL : Cullman man identified as victim of fatal wreck on County Road 1269 on September, Thursday 7th 2017

A Cullman man has been identified as the victim of a fatal head-on collision earlier this morning on County Road 1269.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick said Steven Kennemur, 46, died in the wreck. According to emergency dispatch reports, Vinemont Providence firefighters were called to the two-vehicle wreck in the 1400 block of CR-1269 shortly before 7 a.m. where one person was possibly dead at the scene.


A head-on collision on County Road 1269 in Vinemont resulted in a fatality Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017.

Tuesday's wreck marks the 22nd traffic fatality in Cullman County so far in 2017.

A resident who lives in an apartment complex off County Road 1269 told The Times that vehicles speed up and down the roadway all the time and that pulling out of the complex is dangerous because drivers can't see what's coming over the hill just up from the apartments.

The resident, who declined to be named, proposed a mirror, stop sign or speed bumps be put up at the location to prevent further accidents.
