Boiling Springs, NJ : Fatal crash on Rainbow Lake Road in Boiling Springs on Friday, 3rd August 2018

A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred Friday afternoon on Rainbow Lake Road in Boiling Springs.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger identified the victim as 26-year-old Jacob Andrew Sims of David Duval Court, Inman. The crash occurred at 2051 Rainbow Lake Road, he said.

Lt. Justin Sutherland of the S.C. Highway Patrol said at 1:45 p.m. the driver of a 2014 Suzuki motorcycle, later identified as Sims, was traveling east on Rainbow Lake Road near Timberlake Drive and crossed the center line, losing control of the motorcycle.

The driver of a 2004 Kia van was traveling west on Rainbow Lake Road and struck the motorcycle as it entered the lane, Sutherland said.

Sutherland said Sims was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the crash scene.

The driver and two passengers in the van were not injured in the crash, Sutherland said.
