CLAREMONT, NC : 4-year-old dies in 'weather-related crash' in Catawba County on Thursday, 26th September 2024

A 4-year-old girl named Luna has died and three other children are in the hospital after two vehicles collided in Catawba County Thursday morning.

NC State Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Boggs Road near Hunsucker Drive just after 8 a.m. Troopers said a 2008 GMC Acadia crossed the centerline, crashing head-on with a 2022 GMC Yukon. The wreck occurred during heavy rain conditions.
