Memphis, TN : Three people injured in Kate Bond Middle School bus crash on Tuesday morning, September 13, 2016
Three people were hospitalized when an SUV crashed into the back of a school bus Tuesday morning.
The crash happened near Reese Road and Whitten Road. The school bus was taking students to Kate Bond Middle School.
"Turned around and saw everyone jumping around. All I saw was smoke and glass and I was like 'oh my gosh,'" student J'ohn Davis said.
Memphis Police Department said the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder crashed into the back of the bus. He and his two children were transported to the hospital, but they are all expected to be OK.
Shelby County Schools said parents of some of the students on the bus decided to take their children to the hospital as a precaution.
"One of my friends did have to go to the hospital but not in the ambulance," Davis said. "She had pressure hidden in her back because she was sitting in the back of the bus and I was toward the front."
"When I got here it was pretty bad, mostly for the driver of the vehicle," parent Candace Lewis said.
