NELSONVILLE, MO : Ewing man injured in crash south of Nelsonville on April, Wednesday 5th 2017

A Ewing man was injured in a Wednesday morning crash south of Nelsonville.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2006 Nissan Murano driven by Russell E. Schleiermacher, 57, was southbound on Route D, two miles south of Nelsonville, at 6:32 a.m. The patrol said the vehicle ran off the road while trying to avoid a deer.

Schleiermacher, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Marion County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., with minor injuries.

The patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff's Department and Marion County Rural Fire Department.
