Navarro, TX : Victoria pastor, daughter injured in 2-vehicle crash on Sunday, July 10, 2016

A two-vehicle wreck Sunday at the intersection of North Main Street and Tropical Drive caused a pastor and his daughter to be taken to a Victoria hospital.

Stephen Gonzales, 32, of Victoria, was driving about noon westbound on Tropical Drive in a black Lincoln MkZ and is thought to have run a red light before being struck by a gold Chevrolet pickup on the driver's side, Victoria Police Officer Matthew Hales said.

Jacob Gonzalez, 18, of Victoria, was driving northbound on Main Street in the pickup.

Gonzales was in the car with his wife, who was in the passenger seat, and their two children, about 4 to 5 years old, who were in the back seat, Hales said.

The girl suffered a broken leg and was taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro. She was later taken to a San Antonio hospital for further treatment, Hales said.

Gonzales was pinned in his car for about 15 minutes until a wrecker could arrive to remove the truck from the driver's side, Hales said. His injuries are not life-threatening, Hales said.

Gonzales was driving from LifePointe Fellowship, where he serves as a youth pastor, said his friend Travis Bryant, 45, of Victoria.

The wreck is still under investigation, and it is unknown whether citations will be issued.
