Two people were injured after a high-speed pursuit culminated in a rollover crash in Salt Lake City.

Utah Highway Patrol officials say the incident began Saturday around 7 p.m. when a trooper tried to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle on I-80 near 7200 West.

Lt. Beau Mason says the trooper suspected the occupants of the car were giving false information.

Mason says the vehicle then abruptly took off, traveling as fast as 100 mph.

According to Mason, the car hit a median and rolled.

The man driving and a female passenger suffered serious injuries.

They were taken by helicopter to a hospital and were listed in serious condition.

But the woman's injuries are not life-threatening.

Authorities have not released their names.
