Andover,MA : Charges dropped in crash that killed tow-truck driver on May,Wednesday 23rd 2018
Prosecutors have dropped all charges against a Massachusetts driver who had been charged in the death of a tow-truck driver.
The Eagle-Tribune reports that 28-year-old Shiina Dionne was told by a court clerk she was “free to go” after a hearing Wednesday.
The Lawrence woman had faced drunken driving and vehicular homicide charges in the March 14 death of 41-year-old Daniel Coady Jr.
Coady was killed as he loaded a vehicle onto his truck on Interstate 495 in Andover. Authorities say Dionne’s car struck a car in the breakdown lane, pushing it into Coady.
Prosecutors say Dionne tested negative for alcohol and drugs, and state police indicated there were black ice conditions on the highway the night of the crash.
Excessive speed was also not believed to be a factor.
