Dearborn County, IN :Fatal Accident Shuts Down I-275 In Indiana on Wednesday, July 15th 2015
The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the drivers involved in Wednesday morning’s fatal accident near the Greendale/Lawrenceburg exit that involved a tractor-trailer and a SUV.The tractor-trailer was driven by Mark Ludman, 42, of Independence, Kentucky. Ludman was stopped in traffic waiting to cross the bridge into Kentucky when he rear-ended by an SUV.John Clark, 43, of West Alexandria, Ohio was the driver of the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene.One lane of I-275 southbound has reopened at the accident scene. The right-hand lane remains closed until the accident investigation is completed and the damaged semi trailer can be removed.The Dearborn County Coroner has been called to the scene of a now fatal crash on Interstate 275 at the Lawrenceburg/Greendale exit.The coroner was dispatched shortly before 7:00 a.m.A male occupant of the SUV had reportedly been trapped in the vehicle with leg and lower body injuries. It took about an hour before the victim could be removed from the wreckage.UC Air Care left the scene just after 8:00 a.m. Northbound traffic on I-275 is moving, however, southbound lanes are still closed.(Greendale, Ind.) – Interstate 275 at the Lawrenceburg/Greendale exit is being closed due to an accident between a semi and an SUV.The SUV reportedly rear-ended the semi trailer in the southbound lanes at the 16 mile marker – between the southbound off- and on-ramps – at around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.The driver of the SUV was reportedly trapped in the wreckage. UC Air Care has been summoned to take that victim to the hospital.Both directions of I-275 at the crash scene are being closed until the chopper lands and leaves.
