Morristown, TN : Woman charged after wreck on February, Thursday 8th 2018
Cocke County authorities Thursday jailed a Newport woman who wrecked her vehicle on Highway 160.
Deputy Sgt. David Moriarity said Lisa Lenora French, 50, Forester Way, left the roadway and rolled her 1998 Honda into a creek. French was trapped in her car and was freed by personnel with the Newport Rescue Squad and Centerview Volunteer Fire Department.
French admitted she had consumed two beers, and a partial bottle of vodka was found in her vehicle.
Officers obtained an order from Judge Carter Moore allowing them to draw blood from the woman.
Following medical treatment, she was jailed on charges of DUI, violation of the implied consent, and failure to maintain her lane of travel.
