Munster, IN : A semi driver died after a rollover crash on Wednesday, May 31, 2017

A semi driver died after a rollover crash about 6 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound Interstate 94 near Michigan City, police said.

Lester C. Fason, 28, of Sauk Village, was hauling double trailers when his semi left the road about 2 miles east of U.S. 421 for unknown reasons and rolled over, Indiana State Police said.

The tractor wrapped behind a bridge pillar, and Fason was trapped inside. He was extricated but died before a medical helicopter arrived, police said.

Fason died from blunt force trauma, police said. He was wearing a seat belt.
