Athens, GA : Clarke school bus wreck on April, Monday 17th 2017

A Clarke County School bus ran off Lexington Road near County Farm Road and crashed into a utility pole shortly before noon Monday, but no serious injuries were reported, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. No information was available shortly after the wreck as to whether driver or any students were transported to a hospital.

The bus was one of the school district’s smaller buses and was carrying only three or four students, police spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez said.

The driver appears to have lost control of the bus, went off the road and hit a couple of trees and a power pole, according to Rodriguez.

The wreck remains under investigation, he said.
