Conyers, GA : Conyers officer seriously injured in crash after driving through red light at the intersection of Ga. 138 and Flat Shoals Road on Thursday, 5th March, 2020

A Conyers police officer was seriously injured after his cruiser was hit by another vehicle while traveling through a red light Thursday morning.
Officer Earrett Green’s emergency equipment was active when he went through the intersection of Ga. 138 and Flat Shoals Road, according to the Georgia State Patrol. He collided with a Ford F-250 headed south on Ga. 138, causing the cruiser to spin out and hit another vehicle. The Ford truck had the green light at the intersection, and Green, 29, “failed to use due regard while traveling through the red light,” the GSP said in a statement.The agency was requested to respond about 10:15 a.m. Green was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries to his lower extremities. The driver of the pickup was taken to Piedmont Rockdale Hospital with minor injuries.
