Separate Crashes Kill 2, Including Pregnant Woman Near Philadelphia

Police in two separate towns investigated deadly crashes overnight -- one that left a pregnant woman dead.A wreck between two Mercury Marquis sedans along Red Lion Road near the Roosevelt Boulevard in the Bustleton section of Northeast Philadelphia claimed a pregnant woman’s life"I literally had just put my purse in the passenger seat and was ready to pull out and I looked up into the street and at that moment I saw the car in the right lane get clipped by the car in the left lane," said witness Lynn PolasikAccording to Philadelphia Police two drivers were driving fast, possibly even street racing -- each driver with a child in the car -- when a woman hit a median and lost control of her car as they crossed over Haldeman Avenue.“We do know that they were both going east, they were both going in the same direction, and somewhere they collided and separated and one hit a tree and became engulfed,” said Philadelphia Police Capt. John Wilczynski.
