Texarkana, AR : Man killed when hit by a semi-truck on Interstate 30 in Texarkana on Friday, October 21, 2016

A man is dead after reportedly stepping into traffic on Interstate 30 in Texarkana, Ark.

It happened just before 7 a.m. Friday on I-30 at mile marker 3.

Emergency teams worked to remove the body from the interstate.

Police have not yet identified the man.

He is described as being 35 to 45 years old, of small build, standing 5' 7" to 5' 9" and weighing 140 to 165 pounds. He has blonde hair. There is a tattoo of a peace sign with letters RD in the center on his leg and the letters EBJ on his right hand.

The interstate was down to one lane in the area while authorities investigated.

It's unclear why the man stepped out in front of the truck. There is not a crosswalk in that area.

The truck driver did stop to talk to police about what happened.
