Jersey City,NJ : Morris County man dead after crashing into Parkway divider on April, Tuesday 3rd 2018

A Morris County man died after a van crashed into a concrete divider on the Garden State Parkway Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The Ford Econoline van was heading northbound on the Parkway when it hit the divider on the right, causing the car to swerve and hit the concrete divider to the left, State Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

David Sayers, 53, was pronounced dead at Raritan Bay Medical Center, officials said.

It is unclear what caused the Landing man to hit the dividers, and is still under investigation, police said.

The accident temporarily shut down the left lane of the parkway, which was reopened around 2:30 p.m. as police finished their investigation, Goez said.
