Putnam County ,IN : Intoxicated driver injured in rollover crash along westbound exit ramp of Interstate 70 on Saturday Evening ,April 18 2015
Indiana State Police and Putnam County emergency agencies responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on the westbound exit ramp of Interstate 70 at US 231 around 5:15 p.m. yesterday.
ISP Sgt. Joe Watts reports that Patricia L. Moberley, of Greencastle, failed a chemical test for intoxication by testing .25 percent. Moberley was cited into the Putnam County judicial process due to her extensive injuries and will appear in court at a later date. She has been initially charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated-Prior (felony).
46-year-old Moberley lost control of her green 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, while westbound on Interstate 70. The rollover crash occurred near the westbound exit ramp. According to Watts, witnesses reported the Cavalier appeared to be traveling at an excessive speed and operating erratically prior to the crash.
Moberley was entrapped after the crash and extricated by members of the Cloverdale Fire/Rescue Department. She was transported to Putnam County Hospital for treatment of extensive hand and wrist injuries. Moberley was later transferred to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for further treatment. Numerous alcoholic beverage containers were found at the crash site, according to the report.
The crash was investigate by ISP Trooper David Cox Jr. Assisting were the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Putnam County Operation Life, and the Cloverdale Fire/Rescue Department.
