EFFINGHAM, SC : One arrested after fatal head-on collision in Effingham on Sunday, November, 19th 2017

A Florence woman was arrested on multiple charges after a fatal head-on collision early Sunday morning on Whippoorwill Road near Alligator Road in Effingham.
Miranda Sabb, 32, was charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death, driving under suspension and open container by the South Carolina Highway Patrol following the crash.
The victim was identified by Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken as 57-year-old Wallace Benedict White of Effingham.
The collision occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m. when Sabb was driving eastbound and her vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, according to Lance Cpl. Matt Southern of the SCHP. Sabb's vehicle collided head-on with White's vehicle. White was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sabb was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries and was treated before being booked into the Florence County Detention Center.
The Patrol's MAIT team is conducting the investigation into the crash, Southern said.
