Barr Township, PA : Driver killed along Nicktown Hill Road in Barr Township on Thursday, 30th August 2018

One person was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash along Nicktown Hill Road in Barr Township Thursday morning.

Cambria County Coroner Jeffrey Lees said the driver of the vehicle was traveling southbound in a passenger car near the 1100 block of Nicktown Hill Road around 10:13 a.m., came out of a sharp curve and hit a tree head-on.

Lees said the identity of that driver is being withheld until his office can notify family members.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle, Lees added.

An autopsy will be conducted Friday to determine the cause and manner of death.

Nicktown Volunteer Fire Department and state police assisted Lees' office in the investigation of the crash.
