Fort Collins, CO : Motorcycle crash in south Fort Collins kills 1 at the intersection of Rock Creek Drive and Corbett Drive on Thursday, 27th February, 2020
Police believe speed was a factor in a motorcycle crash that killed an Illinois man in south Fort Collins on Thursday night.
Fort Collins police were notified of the crash, which happened at the intersection of Rock Creek Drive and Corbett Drive, just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release.
A 36-year-old motorcyclist from Yorkville, Illinois, was driving a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Rock Creek Drive from Ziegler Road when he failed to negotiate the roundabout at the Corbett Drive intersection and collided with the center median, according to police.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. His identity will be released by the Larimer County Coroner's Office at a later time, according to police.
The Rock Creek and Corbett intersection, which is southwest of the intersection of Harmony and Ziegler roads, was closed for about 3.5 hours as investigators processed the crash scene.
