Fort Collins, CO : 1 seriously injured in crash at the intersection of Drake Road and Rigden Parkway on Monday, 10th February, 2020
Drake Road has reopened after a crash seriously injured one person and closed a portion of the road for about three hours.
Around 2 p.m. Monday, a truck versus sedan collision at the intersection of Drake Road and Rigden Parkway was reported to police, according to a news release.
As a Dodge truck approached the intersection traveling east on Drake, a Toyota Prius made a left turn west onto Drake Road. The front of the truck collided with the driver side of the sedan, according to the news release from Fort Collins Police Services.
The 23-year old female driver of the Prius had serious injuries. She was extricated from the vehicle by Poudre Fire Authority and taken to a hospital for treatment.
The 24-year-old truck driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Investigators are trying to determine whether the sedan stopped for the stop sign or whether speed may have been involved. Police do not suspect either driver was impaired.
